The Board is always looking for new committee members to join our group for various projects supporting the seniors we serve in Solano County.
Committees

All committee chairs will be members of the Board It is not necessary that committee member volunteers for Fundraising or temporary assignments are members of the Board Orientations are provided by a board member or Meals on Wheels staff member if the applicant is approved for committee membership
Committee Job Descriptions
Volunteer Committee
- Fosters Volunteer Involvement in the agency’s programs and services
- Annual review and revision of Volunteer Manuals as needed
- Plans and provides outreach, recruitment, training and retention
- Provides staff support in the coordination and guidance of volunteers
- Plans and provides Volunteer Recognition
Fundraising Committee
- Raise funds and help ensure that adequate funds are raised to support the agency’s policies and programs
- Plan and help coordinate annual fundraising projects such as:
- Mayor’s For Meals
- Annual Signature Event
- 4th of July Parade
- Veteran’s Day Parade
- Horseracing Event
- 5K-10K Turkey Trot Race
- Adopt a Senior
Community Relations Committee
- Ensures that the agency remains visible and utilized in the community through the production and distribution of agency outreach materials to prospective clients and community service groups.
Public Relations Committee
- Media contacts, Public service announcements, press releases, stories, etc.
- Quarterly Newsletters
- Make presentations for Meals on Wheels at civic clubs and service organizations, churches and schools
