A Legacy of Love – Alice & Hank Grill
Alice and Hank Grill’s love story began in an ice cream shop, a fitting start for two people whose lives would revolve around food.
Alice, a devoted middle school English and French teacher, found joy in cooking and hosting unforgettable dinner parties. Hank, a food scientist and taster at Vacaville’s Basic Vegetable Products Inc., built a career around his passion for flavors. Their shared love for travel took them across the globe, tasting and experiencing the world through cuisine.
Their final gift to Meals on Wheels of Solano County — a nearly $1 million estate gift — built the commercial kitchen that now serves thousands of seniors daily meals, and ensures their legacy of food and community lives on.
